NHRU website struggles for readership after launch of the Griffins Gazette

By Nigel Mifsud | 13 March 2017

The Griffins Gazette continues to attract readership numbers as NHRU news content continues to dwindle in importance.

NHRU News has been a traditional source of Rugby news for the Hunter for 124 years, covering Wanderers matches, Wanderers social events and Wanderers on field triumphs. However, a survey released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics shows The Griffins Gazette superseding the NHRU website as the Hunters leading source of Rugby news.

Arthur Phillip, chief journalist of the NHRU news team, had this to say while sipping Blend 43 from his prized Wanderers coffee mug.

"I think that survey you're quoting is a load of shit quite frankly. Who cares about pub rugby anyway.", he said before offering us a Milk Arrowroot from from his Wanderers collectors edition lunchbox.

The Griffins Gazette readership, now at an all time high, places regular Gazette updates in high regard.

"We want to know every penis joke, preseason training regime and minor criminal offence coming out of the divisional comp." Said Griffins fan Boxcart Joe who resides in the Hawkins Oval referees change room. "That is what pub rugby is all about".

The President of the NHRU refused to comment on the survey.
