Dubbo 48 hour crime spree settles by Sunday

By Nigel Mifsud | 12 March 2017

Police reassure residents that the reported 48 hour crime spree has come to an unprecedented halt. Citizens once again return back to normal country life.

Reports came flooding in from neighbourhood watch overnight with petrified claims of petty crime being performed by the silhouettes or large, potentially inebriated and dangerous men. 4 separate residents reported of petty larceny in the form of local looting of outdoor refrigerators.

"First we heard a huge thud and giggling that sounded like it could have only came from excitable school children." cried Patsy Walsh of Dubbo North. "But I looked outside and here was three large men cooking on my barbecue in the dark at 2AM."

Police said the "Barbecue Bandits" left their known calling card, a half eaten chipolata sausage left on the barbecue plate.

The Griffins Gazette has on good authority that the chipolata sausages devoured by the bandits were to be served the next day in "pigs in blanket" at the local church fete. The fete has been postponed as a result of this senseless crime.

Other reports from terrified local business owners throughout the night were also being treated as suspicious.

"I've never seen so much homoerotic slapping being performed in one Maxi Taxi", said Robert Stevenson - a local distraught second generation Australian Dubbo resident. "Also, my name is Robert, and they continually called me Murali", said Robert who had spent all of Sunday speaking to insurance company after a twisted chassis rendered his Maxi Taxi not roadworthy.

Police picked up one suspect described with a nervous disposition, 15 kilometres out of town and is holding him for questioning. The suspect may be connected with the assailants. The Griffins Gazette were on location to capture the action on footage.

More to come.
