Two days after their loss to France in the World Cup final, Croatia are already making their plans for redemption as they seek one more victory in the next soccer World Cup.

In a strange move, Croatia have put a call out to a team far away. Far from Moscow and far from Zagreb, a rugby team with the intestinal fortitude to deliver what Croatia believe they lacked to get the victory. Coach of Croatia, Zlatko Dalić is heading the strike force team responsible for going one better at the next World Cup.

Speaking through a translator, Dalič had this to say...”yes we feel we can win the World Cup in four years. We lacked toughness during the final....I know a team. They are far away, who are tough, who can teach us. They are a rugby team called Newcastle Griffins.”

When asked why he selected the Griffins to provide the inspiration when there are so many other teams, clubs and organisations with more success than the Griffins, Daliç added, “The Griffins are not like us and we need to be different. They have not won a game this season and have played 13 games. They have not given up. We give up. We need to be like Griffins.”

The Griffins Gazette was able to gather a response from Griffins spokesman Alan Jackson. “What a nice idea. Let’s all fly to Croatia and teach the national soccer team how to be tough. We can train in shin pads and learn how to cry to win penalties. Are you serious, Croatia can get stuffed. Soccer is for pussies!”
