Griffins make the Oz Tag semi finals

The Griffins decided to once again submit a team in the Newcastle Oz Tag Tuesday night competition. It is a great way to keep our skills sharp, keep us together during the off season (and a bit of post Christmas cardio never hurt anyone).

This year the Griffins continued on their late form in the NHRU winter competition by making the semi finals. At times we were as high as second place on the competition ladder and proved to be difficult to beat for a lot of teams.

We made the preliminary finals and were knocked out on a rainy Tuesday evening to finish 4th place overall. It was a good experience for everyone involved and showed what a talented backline we have going into the 2017 competition

We would also like to say a special congratulations to Ben Charlton from the Griffins who was selected to represent Newcastle in the NSW rep competition this coming April. Congratulations Benny!

From Tuesday 21st February we now move to our regular rugby training nights of Tuesday and Thursday each week from 6PM at Hawkins Oval, Islington NSW.
