We are happy to confirm that Rod Beath will be once again take the reins of the mighty Griffins in 2014. Rod is looking forward to resuming his post and has big plans for the on-field direction of the Club for the coming year.
After taking over the coaching position during turbulent times in season 2013 (a rather abrupt departure of the previous coach half way through the season had left the Club in a less than ideal position), it became apparent that it would take a lot of hard work to bring the Club back to its former glory. Rod had since persevered with the club through the roughest period of it's history and with more dogged determination than most saw the Griffins return to being a competitive rugby team in 2016.
Rod’s presence and excellent coaching techniques brought an immediate sense of calm and direction to the Club and on-field performances started steadily improving. With an injection of new players with varying levels of experience as well as the return of some of the Griffins favourite sons we are looking forward to a successful 2014. Thursday afternoon preseason training has already commenced and quality trial matches are in the pipelines. We look forward to rod building on the foundation established last season and can barely contain our excitement at the prospect of cheering on many more Griffins wins from the sideline.
We are happy to confirm that Rod Beath will be once again take the reins of the mighty Griffins in 2017. After our most improved year in recent memory in 2016, Rod is once again keen to coach the Griffins and field what could be our most competitive and athletic side we have put together in recent memory.
Rod is again joined by Tristan Stark as assistant coach and full time player. "Tristo" provided some unique drills and a wealth of experience to the team last year and was instrumental in assisting Rod to make the Griffins a competitive force in 2016.
